KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI closed lower for the second straight day, dragged by selling in heavyweights led by MISC and Kuala Lumpur Kepong.
At 5pm, the benchmark index closed 1.54 points, or 0.1% lower at 1,516.62.
The broader market sagged, with decliners overtaking advancers 486 to 364 while 416 counters were unchanged. Total turnover stood at 2.51 billion units worth RM1.95bil.
In today’s session, 10 of the KLCI-component stocks closed lower while 13 counters chalked up gains.
MISC contributed the most to the index decline and had the largest move, decreasing 4.85%, or 35 sen to RM6.87.
For the second quarter of its financial year, MISC made a net loss of RM19.1mil although revenue jumped over a third higher year-on-year to RM3.21bil on improved contribution in all segments.

For the quarter, the group declared a dividend of seven sen per share going ex on Sept 2, 2022, and payable on Sept 14, 2022.
Nestle fell 30 sen to RM136.10, Kuala Lumpur Kepong lost 12 sen to RM22.80, Telekom Malaysia eased 11 sen to RM5.79 and Tenaga declined nine sen to RM8.78.
On the broader market, Heineken fell 36 sen to RM24.60, Chin Hin lost 21 sen to RM2.42 and Orient eased 15 sen to RM6.61.
ACE market debutant Agmo closed 52.5 sen, or 201.9% to 78.5 sen.
Around the region, MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares ex-Japan dropped 0.39%.
Elsewhere in the region, Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell 0.96%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index eased 0.8%, South Korea’s Kospi closed down 0.33% and Singapore’s Straits Times Index added 0.33%.
